Why do the mini cupcake liners fall off the cupcake?

Grrr... how frustrating. The white cupcake liners keep coming off the cupcakes after coming out of the oven for about 2 hours.

Maybe I took the cupcakes out of the pan too early so the paper didn't get to cool with the cupcake and adhere to it properly, or the cake isn't oily enough. Maybe it's cheap-o paper (though it is Wilton brand). Maybe mini cupcakes hate me sometimes.

I don't know. But I had to do something with the ugly deformed mini cupcakes. So I took stripped their cups, and put them in a new one!

... and now they look like little candies!

  1. So after a little experimenting, it seems the more oily cupcake batter ended up adhering to the liners better. Try spraying cooking oil on the cupcake liners in the tray before pouring in batter.

  2. after you take the cupcakes out let them cool down compeletly in the pan (about fifteen munites) and hten take them out.. You'll see that the liners will not come off this way.
